Getting to Juiz de Fora and Universidade Federal de Juiz de Fora
1. Through Rio de Janeiro:
For people coming from outside the state of Minas Gerais, the best options is to come through Rio de Janeiro. The three international airports in Rio are:

Rio de Janeiro International Airport (RIO),

Galeão-Antonio Carlos Obm International Airport (GIG),

or Santos Dumont (SDU) Airports.
Bus from Rio to Minas: At each of these airports, there are shuttles (Frescao line) to the Novo Rio Bus Station (Address: Av. Francisco Bicalho, 01 – Santo Cristo – CEP: 20220-310 – Rio de Janeiro/RJ; Ph #: (21) 3213-1800).
From the Novio Rio Bus Station, use the bus company Útil to take an hourly bus to Juiz de Fora. The trip from Rio de Janeiro to Juiz de Fora is approximately 180 kilometers, a 3-hour drive on a multilane highway.
If you arrive at the bus station in Juiz de Fora, you can take a taxi to the university or you could use one of two different bus lines to get downtown: 630 (Rodoviária) and 640 (Rodoviária/Dr. Romualdo). From downtown, you would then need to take another bus to Universidade Federal de Juiz de Fora.
2. Through Sao Paulo:
If you are in São Paulo, you can also come by bus with Viação Cometa, from the Bus Terminal Tietê. The distance is approximately 480 km, taking around 7 hours.
If you arrive at the bus station in Juiz de Fora, you can take a taxi to the university or you could use one of two different bus lines to get downtown: 630 (Rodoviária) and 640 (Rodoviária/Dr. Romualdo). From downtown, you would then need to take another bus to Universidade Federal de Juiz de Fora.
3. By way of a direct flight to Juiz de Fora, Brazil (Goiana, Brazil):
Another option is to come straight to Presidente Itamar Franco Regional Airport (IZA) (also known as Regional Zona da Mata). IZA receives flights from the airlines Azul and Gol. On the arrival area in the airport, there are hourly shuttles into the city of Juiz de Fora for R$14,00. When takign the shuttle from IZA, get off of the shuttle at Praça da Estação, where you can take a taxi or a bus to Universidade Federal de Juiz de Fora.
When you arrive at the university:
When you arrive at the university, take one of the following bus lines: 525 (novo ICH), 545 (UFJF) or 555 (UFJF). These bus lines take you to the Instituto de Ciências Humanas (ICH), where the event will take place. (If you use a different bus line to the university, you should stop at the Faculdade de Direito and ask for directions about how to get to the ICH.)
